Weekly Digest #86
Happy Friday! Did you have a nice week?
I did. My days were flowing just fine and, as I predicted in last issue’s letter, life went on. I even published my first article this week, which made me really happy.
But yesterday a tragicomical thing happened to me.
I was living my life, sitting by the computer, doing my job, minding my own business, when suddenly my own body turned against me and decided that - no, we are not looking right anymore. In other words, I have a stiff neck.
The pain was so intense that I cried for my mom - and she actually came to my rescue (thanks, mom). The thing is… it didn’t go away. So today, early in the morning, after a long night of suffering and not sleeping, I went to the emergency unit. I honestly have no idea what I was expecting - maybe a massage? But I got a shot in the bum. A shot. In the bum. Before breakfast.
So, besides having a stiff neck, now I have a stiff bum, as well. The humiliation…
What drives me mad is the fact that this whole situation is like an official-adult-license-card. I mean, getting hurt while sitting down, working? COME ON! I just miss the good old salad days, when I got hurt due to reckless behavior.
I feel you, Scott.

You know I'm a Beatles girl and it's been a while since I last mentioned anything Beatle-related here. I didn't listen to much music this week but today, writing this issue, I randomly started mumbling the chorus of Getting Closer, by Wings.
Of course, mumbling this song made me proceed to listen to the whole album, which is one of the many goodbyes I came to love.
Back To The Egg is the last album released by Wings (aka the band Paul McCartney formed with his wife, Linda). The sessions for this album's recording lasted for almost a year, in Scotland and England.
Although back in 1979 it was viewed as a commercial failure, I've been listening to it ever since I can remember. If that is a failure, so be it.
Something nice for you to know is that the song Rockestra Theme, the 8th song in the album, was recorded with guest musicians from bands such as the Who, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd - and they even got a Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental performance in 1980!

Dealers Are Giving Discounts on Cocaine and Ketamine in Honour of the Queen
“In a screenshot attached to a viral tweet, one seller sent out a mail shot text 13 minutes after the Queen’s death at the age of 96 was announced on Thursday with a list of drugs and prices, including an ounce of weed for £150 and £30 grams of ketamine. Then they told their customers they were offering 'a queen’s dead discount on everything ask me for details'” - from Vice. Read here.
